Personal Information and Its Uses

Personal information is provided an initial enrolment into the membership scheme and contact will be based upon the consent given at this time until informed otherwise. Date may be used for:

  • Administration of the membership scheme
  • Administration of donations and legacies
  • To provide a goods or service you have ordered
  • Statistical analysis and profiling of members which where possible will be anonymised
  • To communicate special offers, news, fundraising campaigns and other items which we think may interest you.

Personal Data may be shared with NMRN Trading a subsidiary of NMRN. Data will not be provided to any other third parties other than for legal compliance. Any data provided to us will be kept for a reasonable time period in line with business and legal needs. All data will be held in line with the Data Protection Act 1998. Photographs will only be taken and stored for identification reasons.

Scannable cards

We use barcodes on our membership cards to collect information on your visits. This data includes the properties you have visited, the date that you went and your membership number. We use this information to understand our supporters visiting trends.

We also use this information to make our communications to you more relevant.

You have a right to request any or all of the information we hold on you at any time (this is known as a subject access request). Please contact the address above for this information. Please use this address to update us of any changes to your details.

Throughout our Web pages, we provide links to other servers which may contain information of interest to our readers. We do, through analytics, collect data on the IP address of visitors to our website. We also collect data on the browsers our web visitors use, and the operating system used. We use this data to inform future website development.

For children who visit our site, special rules apply. We do not request personal information about children, such as first and last name or street address and city. When children send email to us, their online contact information (email address) is not used to re-contact them and is not maintained in retrievable form.

Your Marketing Permissions

The NMRN always acts upon your choices around what type of communications you want to receive and how you want to receive them. However there are some communications that need to happen regardless of your marketing preferences. These are what we would describe as essential communications to fulfil our promises to you as a member or buyer of goods or services from the NMRN. An example of this type of communication would be:

  • Transaction notification messaging, such as Direct Debit confirmation

Whenever we send you a communication that we deem as essential, it will not contain a direct marketing ask such as asking you for a donation, so that we respect what you have told us on that subject.
